He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 4, 2003. Army Sgt. Andrew Joseph Baddick, 26, of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Baddick drowned as he tried to rescue another soldier whose vehicle had entered a canal near Abu Ghraib Prison, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on September 29, 2003. Army Sgt. Sherwood R. Baker, 30, of Plymouth, Pennsylvania. Baker died in Baghdad, Iraq, by a large explosion while performing site security. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's Company B, 2nd Battalion, 103rd Armor Regiment, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. Died on April 26, 2004. Marine Lance Cpl. Aric J. Barr, 22, of Allegheny, Pennsylvania. Barr died due to injuries received from enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California. Died on April 3, 2004. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Ronald E. Baum, 38, of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania. Baum died due to hostile action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Intelligence Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on May 3, 2004. Army 1st Lt. David R. Bernstein, 24, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Bernstein was killed in action in Taza, Iraq, when enemy forces ambushed his patrol using rocket propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion (Airborne), 508th Infantry Regiment, 173rd Infantry Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy. Died on October 18, 2003. Army Staff Sgt. Stevon A. Booker, 34, of Apollo, Pennsylvania. Killed by enemy fire in Iraq during a raid into Baghdad. He was assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 5, 2003. Army Spc. Edward W. Brabazon, 20, of Philadelphia; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died March 9 of a non-hostile gunshot wound in Baghdad. Army Pfc. Timmy R. Brown, Jr., 21, of Conway, Pennsylvania. Brown was in a convoy in Taji, Iraq when he was injured by an explosive device. Brown died of his injuries. Brown was assigned to D Company, 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 12, 2003. Army Sgt. Ernest G. Bucklew, 33, of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania. Bucklew was on board a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter when it went down in Al Fallujah, Iraq. The cause of the incident is unknown and an investigation is underway. He was assigned to Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on November 2, 2003. Army Staff Sgt. Edward W. Carmen, 27, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Carmen died in Baghdad, Iraq when the track of the tank he was in broke, the driver lost control and the tank rolled off the bridge. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 12th Armored Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 17, 2004. Army Pvt. Bradli N. Coleman, 19, of Ford City, Pennsylvania. Coleman died in Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries sustained on May 29, 2004 in Mosul, Iraq, when mortar rounds hit his living quarters. He was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on May 30, 2004. Army Spc. Carl F. Curran, 22, of Union City, Pennsylvania. Curran died in Al Karmah, Iraq, when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's Battery C, 1st Battalion, 107th Field Artillery Regiment, Oil City, Pennsylvania. Died on May 16, 2004. Army Staff Sgt. Christopher E. Cutchall, 30, of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Cutchall was traveling in a convoy west of Baghdad, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated as his vehicle passed by. He died of injuries sustained in the incident. Cutchall was assigned to Delta Troop, 4th Cavalry, Riley, Kansas. Died on September 29, 2003. Army 1st Sgt. Christopher D. Coffin, 51, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Coffin died on Highway 8 in Iraq when his vehicle ran into a ditch while trying to avoid a civilian vehicle. Coffin was assigned to the 352nd Civil Affairs Battalion, Riverdale, Maryland. Died on July 1, 2003. Army Spc. Shawn M. Davies, 22, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Davies died in Baghdad, Iraq, of a non-combat related illness. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 8, 2004. Army Capt. Brian R. Faunce, 28, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Faunce was moving in a Bradley fighting vehicle in Al Asad, Iraq when his vehicle crossed under some low laying power lines. The soldier reached up and grabbed the lines and was fatally injured. Faunce was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on September 18, 2003. Army Spc. Michael T. Gleason, 25, of Warren, Pennsylvania. Spc. Gleason was traveling in a three-vehicle convoy during a storm from Mosul to Tikrit (2 HUMMVs, 1 light medium tactical vehicle). A civilian vehicle dodged a pothole causing the HUMMVs to swerve. There was not enough stopping distance between the vehicles causing the LMTV to swerve off the road and turn over, causing the death of Gleason and two other soldiers. The soldiers were assigned to the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on May 30, 2003. Army Spc. Christopher A. Golby, 26, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Golby was onboard a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter when it crashed near Fallujah, Iraq while on a MEDEVAC mission. He was assigned to the 571st Medical Company (Air Ambulance), Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on January 8, 2004. Sgt. Timothy L. Hayslett, 26, of Newville, Pa., was killed on Nov. 15 in Baghdad, Iraq. Hayslett was conducting a patrol when struck by an improvised explosive device. He died of his injuries. Hayslett was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based in Friedberg, Germany. Army Staff Sgt. Jeremy R. Horton, 24, of Erie, Pennsylvania. Horton died near Al Iskandariyah, Iraq when an improvised explosive device exploded. He was assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany. Died on May 21, 2004. Army Spc. Eric R. Hull, 23, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Hull was in a military vehicle returning from the airport when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in Baghdad, Iraq. Hull was assigned to the 307th Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserves, New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Died on August 18, 2003. Marine Cpl. Barton R. Humlhanz, 23, of Hellertown, Pennsylvania. Humlhanz died from injuries received due to enemy action in Babil Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Expeditionary Unit Service Support Group 24, 24th MEU, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on August 26, 2004. Army Spc. Craig S. Ivory, 26, of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania. Ivory died of a non-combat related cause in Homberg University Hospital, Germany, after he was medically evacuated from Kuwait on August 12. Ivory was assigned to the 501st Forward Support Company, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Southern European Task Force, Vicenza, Italy. Died on August 17, 2003. Army Spc. Maurice J. Johnson, 21, of Levittown, Pennsylvania. Johnson was riding in a HMMWV when he was hit with an improvised explosive device in Mosul, Iraq. Johnson was assigned to C Company, 501st Signal Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 1, 2003. Army Spc. Mark J. Kasecky, 20, of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Kasecky died in Al Karmah, Iraq, when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's Battery C, 1st Battalion, 107th Field Artillery Regiment, Oil City, Pennsylvania. Died on May 16, 2004. Army Spc. Jonathan R. Kephart, 21, of Oil City, Pennsylvania. Kephart died in Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries sustained when his patrol was ambushed near Baghdad on April 8, 2004. He was assigned to the 230th Military Police Company, from Kaiserslautern, Germany. Died on April 9, 2004. Army Pfc. Martin W. Kondor, 20, of York, Pennsylvania. Kondor died in Baqubah, Iraq when an apparent improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany. Died on April 29, 2004. Army Pfc. Bradley G. Kritzer, 19, of Irvona, Pennsylvania. Kritzer died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 21st Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on May 5, 2004. Army Sgt. Dale T. Lloyd, 22, of Watsontown, Pennsylvania. Lloyd died in Iskanderia, Iraq, when multiple mortars rounds hit his forward operating base. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry, 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on July 19, 2004. Army Spc. Zachariah W. Long, 20, of Milton, Pennsylvania. Spc. Long was traveling in a three-vehicle convoy during a storm from Mosul to Tikrit (2 HUMMVs, 1 light medium tactical vehicle). Died on April 1, 2003. Army Spc. William J. Maher III, 35, of Yardley, Pennsylvania. Maher was in a convoy when he was injured by an improvised explosive device. Maher died of his injuries in Baghdad, Iraq. Maher was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based at Ray Barracks, Germany. Died on July 28, 2003. Army Spc. Clint Richard Matthews, 31, of Bedford, Pennsylvania. Matthews died in Baji, Iraq, from injuries sustained when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle went over a 60-foot embankment and flipped over on March 17, 2004. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, from Schweinfurt, Germany. Died on March 19, 2004. Sgt. Joseph Minucci II, 23, of Richeyville, Pa, was killed on Nov. 13 in Samara, Iraq. Minucci was riding on a bus when an improvised explosive device exploded. Minucci died of his injuries. Minucci was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy. Army Spc. Sean R. Mitchell, 24, of Youngsville, Pennsylvania. Mitchell died in Habbaniyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his armored personnel carrier. He was assigned to the Army's 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on March 31, 2004. Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas B. Morrison, 23, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Morrison died due to hostile action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on August 13, 2004. Army Spc. Rafael L. Navea, 34, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. An improvised explosive device struck Navea's vehicle in Al Fallujah, Iraq. Navea died of his injuries. Navea was assigned to C Battery, 2nd Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on August 27, 2003. Army Spc. Donald Samuel Oaks, Jr., 20, Harborcreek, Pennsylvania. Killed in action in Iraq. Assigned to C Battery, 3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery Regiment (Multiple Launch Rocket System), Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on April 3, 2003. Army Sgt. Jaror C. Puello-Coronado, 36, of Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania. Puello-Coronado was manning a traffic point when the operator of a dump truck lost control of the vehicle. Puello-Coronado was struck by the truck and died of his injuries at Camp Edson, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 310th Military Police Battalion, Uniondale, New York. Died on July 13, 2003. Army Spc. Tamarra J. Ramos, 24, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Ramos died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C., of non-combat related injuries. She was assigned to the 3rd Armor Medical Company, Medical Troop Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on October 1, 2003. Army Spc. Matthew J. Sandri, 24, of Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Sandri died in Fallujah, Iraq, when his living area came under a rocket attack. He was assigned to the 82nd Forward Support Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on March 20, 2004. Army 1st Lt. Neil Anthony Santoriello, 24, of Verona, Pennsylvania. Santoriello died in Khalidiyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his mounted reconnaissance patrol vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 34th Armor, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on August 13, 2004. Army Capt. Christopher Scott Seifert, 27, of Williams Township, Pennsylvania. Killed in a grenade attack while sleeping in a tent at Camp Pennsylvania, Kuwait. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on March 22, 2003. Army Lt. Col. Anthony L. Sherman, 43, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Sherman died as a result of non-combat related injury (medical) in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Sherman was assigned to the 304th Civil Affairs Brigade, U.S. Army Reserves, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Died on August 27, 2003. Army Pfc. Corey L. Small, 20, of East Berlin, Pennsylvania. Small died from a non-combat related cause in Iraq. Small was assigned to the 502nd Military Intelligence Company, 2 ACR, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on July 3, 2003. Army Spc. William R. Sturges, Jr., 24, of Spring Church, Pennsylvania. Sturges was killed when a vehicle-based improvised explosive device detonated in Khalidiyah, Iraq. He was assigned to Company B, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 24, 2004. Marine Cpl. John H. Todd III, 24, of Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. Todd died southeast of Baghdad, Iraq, as a result of hostile action. He was assigned to the Marine Corps Reserve's 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group, Folsom, Pennsylvania. Died on June 29, 2004 Sgt. Nicholas A. Tomko, 24, of Pittsburgh, Pa., was killed on Nov. 9 in Baghdad, Iraq. Tomko was the door gunner in a convoy vehicle when his team came under small arms attack. The soldier died of his injuries. Tomko was assigned to the 307th Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserve, New Kensington, Pa. Army Staff Sgt. Kimberly A. Voelz, 27, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Voelz was responding to an explosive ordnance disposal call when an improvised explosive device detonated in Iskandariyah, Iraq. Voelz was assigned to the 703rd Explosive Ordnance Detachment, Fort Knox, Kentucky. Died on December 14, 2003. Army Spc. Douglas J. Weismantle, 28, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Weismantle was driving a HMMWV when an Iraqi dump truck swerved and rolled over on top of his vehicle. Weismantle died as a result of his injuries. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on October 13, 2003. Army Spc. Nicholas J. Zangara, 21, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Zangara died in Tikrit, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany. Died on July 24, 2004.
